[ANIME] Dandadan (2024)
I was looking forward to this adaptation as I quite like the manga, and thankfully this doesn't disappoint. The combat scenes, which were laid out so well in the original, are super fluid and exciting to watch. What's even more important is that the emotional core of the series is there. The backstory of a particular monster is legitimately one of the most moving episodes of any show I watched in 2024, and that's a pretty wild statement about a show where teenagers fight ghosts and aliens. The real test will be how the studio is going to handle some later arcs, which absolutely explode in terms of scale, but given how the beginning was handled, I have no doubt they will be able to pull this off.
