[FILM] Blast of Silence (1961)
Now here is a real, unashamed example of film noir, complete with cynical voiceover, assassins that lurk in the shadows and an uncompromising, bleak ending. I was quite surprised to see that a film that fits so squarely into the genre was made this late after the genre's golden age. Some might view the over-the-top, lurid story as ridiculous, but when viewed in the context of the genre I thought it was truly excellent.
