[FILM] The Last of Sheila (1973)

It's very rare to get an original murder mystery in film form that's not an adaptation of an existing novel or story, so I was very pleased with this aspect of The Last of Sheila. All the elements are there - eccentric millionaire family patriarch, a small cast of characters each with a plausible motive, and increasingly logic-defying revelations that are a joy in the context of this puzzle-box of a story. At times the suspension of disbelief threatens to disappear altogether, as some of the reveals feel like they were just put there distract the viewer from the true solution, but overall it's a very solid murder mystery with a satisfying ending.
