[NOVEL] The Library At Mount Char (2015)

This novel has some incredibly unique world-building. It has a strong commitment to being as bizarre as possible, and while there are elements of Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and China Mieville in there, I really don't think I've read anything quite like it. The joy of this novel comes from seeing the America from the eyes of a group of characters, the Librarians, that see humanity as something alien. At a certain point in the book, we also get a glimpse of what Librarian society looks like from the point of view of a human character, which is similarly eye-opening.

My main issue with the book is that the ending, while tying things up nicely, does seem to explain things in slightly too much detail, which doesn't really leave that much to the imagination. Regardless, it's a very clever novel, and I'm shocked that this is the author's debut novel given its quality.
